Candidates sit for the ESOL exam depending on the level of knowledge of the language they studied - (Entry 1-3 and Level 1, 2). The assessment consists of four parts. A Speaking part involves a two-way or three-way discussion on a given topic. Students must be able to conduct a discussion using improved vocabulary and grammar. A Reading part is aimed at checking learners' understanding of a specific text. In a Writing exam students must show the ability to express their ideas using complex sentences with an accent on spelling and grammar. In a Listening assessment, the accent is on understanding a recorded text by answering some questions.
